January 29 WarehouseI have this warehouse for the memories and dreams. Sip it slowly, they are precious till being back to the road. January 15 YiLan, Jan 13-14We went to YiLan for a 2-day trip.
We didn't have have much luck in this trip. It rained for entire 2 days, from morning to evening. We screwed up the address of our hotel and showed up in a wrong branch. We were tired as we stayed too late the night before we start to travel. The walk in the trail almost kill my friends as it rained and my friends don't work out at all.
BUT, the people showed in the pics are all my good friends and we did a lot of happy conversation during the trip.
January 08 LifeThe expression of passion to life is touching my heart, therefore quote it from my friend's email.
"Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of. "--Benjamin Franklin January 06 New Year's EveOur New Year's Eve, the hightide of the trip. We were heading to Mildford Sound from Q'stown. Everybody was excited for the coming big night. To say goodbye to my past and welcome my future, I need to do something different. On the top of my to-do list, trying to kill myself...the past, Bungy jumping was a good idea. It costs NZ$139. I was running out of cash, the budget is over planed amount. But who cares? I don't want to be regretted. Credit card took care of everything. It was at Kawarau Bridge, a minor jump for 43 meters comparing to the others they did. But I like the feeling there, the bridge is beautiful. Pretending no fear is one of my talents. I was not shaking or being freaked out at all. However, panic attacked me at the last minute when I moved myself to the edge, the chain was hanging on my feet heavily, trying to drag me down into the deep valley, 43 M looked like killing. One deep breath, I smiled to the camera with a gorgeous pause…almost pi in my pants actually. Then the guy behind me suddenly started to count down, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! He tried to push me out of the edge. I screamed and pushed back: don’t push me!! Almost elbowed him. I need to jump by myself, don’t push me! Therefore, we started over again; I bent my knees, jump! It was not too bad to fall, my hands touched the water surprised me, as I asked for not to. However, the bouncing-back was killing. I was frightened by the big unpredicted 2nd jump. Finally, it stopped, but I was shaking all over my body. I couldn’t grab the stick that the guy tried to reach me from the boat. Finally, they got me, but I couldn’t move but just lying there for about 1 minute. Thank god, I survived! The pictures took another NZ$ 45. Expensive, but looks good, nice booty to show around to my friends. It seems didn’t take long to arrive Milford Sound. Probably I was sleeping all the way to save energy for the big night, just like what I did everyday since the start of this trip:-P. Being calculating, 2 pills of sea sick prevention medicine last night secure myself to enjoy the New Year party. I felt only cold but any sickness. Mildford Sound is beautiful. We sit on the deck enjoying the sun and limited heat receiving in the frozen wind. We saw sea seals, dolphins and did some water activities. Sand fly attacked us on hiyaki, like not eating for 100 years. But didn’t decrease my excitement. It’s time to get ready for pirate party! I didn’t want to spend money for the pirate stuffs from the Queenstown toyshop. They look so cheap. A patch tied on my face gave me a big-face and ridiculous look, I didn’t like it. I never attended those parties before. I had no idea for dressing myself up. Even worse, I forgot my high heels in the luggage. On the contrary, my roommates were well prepared. They looked like the actress jumped out from a pirate movie. They gave me a hint that maybe I could use my scarf, like what they did on their head. Kylie was so kind to lend me her earrings. Luckily, my dress and the accessories fit well together. I was even wearing my US$3 slippers, HA! The music and the activities host sucks. But who cares? From the pictures I took, people were so having fun. I must drink too fast and too many kinds of alcohol. Finally, 1 champagne excited all the alcohol in my body. Everything was perfect. Sooooooooo much fun! I started to laugh, right after the midnight fireworks. Of course I needed to, I was there with a pile of funny guys having my best New Year party ever! I stretched my arms to hold the New Year. They tried to grab me to the bed. But why should I? I was not sleepy at all! Finally, they got me in my bed. I couldn’t lie down, because I need to laugh with the position on my knee. They tried to stop me to straight up in order not to hit the ceiling not far away. People told me that they were entertained that night. The traffic was busy while Alison tried to find her little kiwi on the ground. She couldn’t sleep without that little kiwi. Jo was running around. I kept slipped out of my room and trying to fall out of the cruise or falling down from the top of ladder. And Kate just sat outside the toilet and crying for the fact that we are leaving each other soon. When Dom came back to our room, I tried to negotiate with her that I could definitely remove my makeup if I could speak English. I was up at am 6:00 in the first morning of 2007. The alcohol effect vanished quickly last night after 2 hours later. I was completely sober and felt peaceful in the silent dawn. Dolphins were playing around our ship. Milford Sound has my footprint with my name signed right under my last signature signed in the year of 2006: With my arms holding 2007! January 05 New Zealand/Contiki (Dec 27 2006 to Jan 02 2007)It was the best time in my life for last one week in New Zealand. Ask me if it were the country, I probably would say it's only a part of it. This country has the most beautiful scene I've ever seen. Flowers all over the fields, great air, clean water, exciting activities…..which is completely contradiction to the peace there. So, what made me unforgettable memories? People chemistry! It brought this tour into live. Great fun together, crazy parties together, interesting gossip about little love stories and nice care to the drunk and silly. We have people from States, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, UK…..and me, the only one from Asia. We are in great combination. It took almost 2 days to warm up, which made me a little bit concerned….why are they so quiet?? I was wrong, after dinner, the party animals showed up. Beer seems to be a good catalyst to release those animals. My first and probably can be the last hot dancing was with Nico the driver, in bar Altitude, Q’stown. Thanks to Nico, he is a good dancer and a gentleman….and too bad, a playboy as well….I saw that, Nico! Gil, definitely a very nice person willing to help people all the time. He saved me from a “hungry” boy in Altitude. Gil, you are my hero. Andrea, Peterson and Gra, they showed me the family value. They are very close to each other, and are very warm to people. Fell in love quickly, showed me the passion of Brazilian nature. Leena and Priya, 2 gorgeous girls from LA. Friendly to me all the time. Kylie, Christina, Dom, terrible roommates, gave me too much fun in drunk conversation. Forgive us, we have sin There was too much to remember in this wonderful dream. I tried to catch as much as I could in my camera, but was not that successful. Too blue the sky was to be recorded. Too sweet the air was to be recorded. Too magical the people chemistry was to be recorded. All my pictures are here but they can only describe less than half of my feeling. http://picasaweb.google.com/dianetjho/NZContikiDec272006Jan022007/photo#5016462568826061570 Have fun and relax, it is our holiday memories! I love you guys! |
